The joyous, boistrus laughter of care free days gone by-
still ring in my ears as if they were
experienced yesterday-
to be able to laugh whole heartedly again with
unreserved bliss I long for those days again
the silliness
the love, the warmth
the safety and comfort found in true friendship,
a simple bracelet and a pair of shoes are all that remain of such bliss
they are my treasured possessions of days gone by
The ringing is fading
the warmth has died. the love of a friend has faded to a flicker
There is no time for silliness anymore
a shell of a life once lived is all that remains
Buried within, I believe, is a pearl,
a rare gem that is pure
I pray for the day she reappears to me.
