Update
There are a few things that I feel need to be cleared up... I removed my last post because I wrote it in haste and after rereading it thought it may of been confusing to some. I want to start out by saying that we love our daughter, Johanna, dearly. We have not disowned her and it is not our desire to do so. We are not mad at her but are very hurt by her. A little over a month ago it was brought to our attention in a very hurtful way that she no longer wanted to live for the Lord. She felt she was missing out in what the world had to offer and made it clear to us that even though she knew all that she was giving up, and the consequences, she still wanted to try it out for herself and had actually been doing so while still in our home. All the while she was still singing in churches with us, recording a new CD, teaching sunday school, playing piano for our church, etc. We have raised her for the Lord and because she expressed the desire to be in the ministry, we raised her with that purpose. After doing our very best to try and convince her that she was choosing the wrong way, and that the world had nothing to offer her but heartache, she decided to leave anyway. We gave her the choice and she chose to walk out without even a goodbye. I didn't think I was going to be able to handle it as I seen her drive away. I had a break down and at the time didn't think I could go on, but The Lord helped me and continues to everyday. She has since continued to live her life in sin even dating someone that doesn't know the Lord, and we have seen no remorse for the heartache she has caused the Lord or her family. We again have not disowned her but we have let her go. She is 19 years old, she has been raised the best way we knew how and under some of the best preachers, she knows exactly what she is doing and who she is hurting. Our family has gone through this before and she has gone through the hurt with us for years yet she still made the decision to do the very same thing. I do have some confusion as to why so many of our christian friends still remain her friend on face book where she publicly post things that dishonor our Lord and Savior. She is dragging His name and our family name down yet I don't see much of anyone taking a stand. She is our daughter, and to take a stand against her is the hardest thing for us to do but we do it because we know it is right. I encourage those who know our family and know how we raised our daughter to take a stand for the Lord. As long as she has you by her side she is taking comfort in the fact and it is enabling her to continue in the path she is going. For her sake, take a stand for what is right. Some of you might even be wondering why I even say anything, it is my family and my business so why laid it all for all to see? That is just who I am. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and this being a public blog and face book being what it is, I feel that I need to explain things because I know people see and hear things that don't look good. I wish I could just keep it all inside. But in a way, I see it as a good thing, people who care will see a hurting family with a wayward daughter and hopefully pray for her and our family. All I ask is that you pray for our daughter, that she come back to the Lord and to her family and that she won't be to scarred by sin and the world. That is our desire.

Hi Teresa,
You don't have to publish this if you don't want to (and I don't even know if I am welcome here) but I wanted to tell you something.
I did this to my parents many years ago...although I never left home. I was living in sin, while still attending church, playing the piano, and "acting" like a christian. If it helps encourage you at all, I am now living for God and my relationship with my family and my God has been restored. I don't know what you are going through, but I just felt compelled to let you know that I was once the cause of pain and heartache to my family.
We serve an awesome God who knows Johanna's heart...and what you have taught her will NEVER be erased from her heart.
I want you to know that I am praying for you.
